Paris Hilton

Aside from all the glitz and glam, you may be surprised to know that the one and only Paris Hilton is engaged with crypto. Back in 2016, the socialite was featured in a social media post with Stephan Tual, former CCO of the cryptocurrency Ethereum. Fast forward to 2021, it has been announced that Hilton now has her very own non-fungible token (NFT) collection, selling for over $1.1m.

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg was one of the first celebrities to jump on the bitcoin trend. Back in 2013, the American rapper made his record available to buy in bitcoin, selling them at 0.3 BTC. Fun fact: he was also spotted at an ‘XPR Community Night’ crypto party.

50 Cent

You’d be wrong to think that Snoop Dogg is the only American rapper affiliated with crypto. In 2014, it was reported that 50 Cent took bitcoin as payment for his album Animal Ambition. According to sources, he received around 700 bitcoins – worth a total of more than $7m in 2017.

Nas

Joining Snoop Dog and 50 Cent in the crypto craze is Nas. Reports reveal that the hip-hop singer invested $25m in bitcoin exchange, Coinbase. The singer’s interest in the currency was conveyed in an interview with Coindesk, where he said: “Bitcoin will evolve into an industry as big, if not bigger, than the internet.”

Mel B

Another celeb who invested in crypto back in the early days is Spice Girls’ very own Mel B, who accepted the currency as payment for a single. The singer even said: “Bitcoin unites my fans around the world using one currency”.

Elon Musk

Earlier this year, it was reported that Elon Musk’s company Tesla Motors purchased $1.5bn in Bitcoin, which has been coined as one of the largest crypto investments in history. Even though Musk frequently makes fun of the currency on Twitter, the entrepreneur to this day is known as possibly one of the most influential figures in the crypto industry.

Logic

Another prominent celeb in the crypto industry is rapper Logic who invested $6m in bitcoin just before the currency began to surge in 2012. During this time, the value for the currency was just above $10,000 – so it’s safe to say he made a lot in profit.

Maisie Williams

In November 2014, the Game of Thrones star asked her followers for advice on whether to “go long on Bitcoin”. With more than half of her followers advising against it, the actor ended up investing in the currency, tweeting “Thank you for the advice, I bought some anyway”. It seems that it was a wise move, as the price of the currency has more than quadrupled since.

Mike Tyson

As well as being a famous boxer, Mike Tyson is also a keen investor of bitcoin. The celebrity also created the revolutionary Bitcoin ATMs, which are signified with his face tattoo. On top of this, Tyson announced a partnership with Bitcoin Direct in 2015, to launch a special Bitcoin wallet for both phones and handsets. What a crypto icon!

Jamie Foxx

You’ve seen him in Dreamgirls and The Amazing Spider Man, but aside from his acting career, did you know Jamie Foxx has been a firm supporter of crypto (more specifically) bitcoin? In a past tweet, he wrote: “Looking forward to participating in the new @cobinhood Token! ZERO fee trading!”
